coffee roasters and coffee houses are the latest batch of interesting brands defining quality and experience. bear pond espresso in tokyo, sightglass in san francisco, the many in portland (water avenue, heart, barista, coava, etc.) all have these emotional attachments about them, through their drinks and their beans - but maybe more importantly through their spaces, their collateral, and their people.
